Special Announcement and Upcoming Events
Hi kids, it is with a heavy heart that I share the latest information regarding Kevin Casey. Please pray for Kevin and his family. I have copied a letter from his brother and posted it below at the bottom of the page. I was lucky enough to see Kevin at the hospital last Sunday prior to his most recent brain surgery to relieve swelling on the brain caused by a massive stroke. This is very serious. I really love this guy – he is a hero. There is also news about c/s runs this weekend, Lois’ 25 years c/s party and a memorial on Sunday for Linda, the wife of Diablo Valley Survivors Mike, that passed away in the bath tub just before Bass Lake.

Subject: Update on Kevin
Please excuse the mass email, but I wanted to keep you all in the loop. My brother Kevin was admitted to O’Connor Hospital for what was supposed to be routine surgery on last Thursday. The surgery went well. He was back in the room by 8:00. I spent some time with him, and went home. About 3:15 on Friday morning they called to tell me he had suffered a stroke. They went in to dissolve the clot and were unable to get the entire clot, so administered a drug called TPA, which is a blood thinner. This caused the brain to hemorrhage. Before it could be controlled, significant brain damage was done. On Sunday afternoon, we were asked for consent to do surgery to relieve the pressure on the brain. We agreed. The neurosurgeon reported that about half of his brain was dead. When they opened the skull, “the brain popped out about 3 cm’s.”
Since that time Kevin has remained in ICU. I do get to see him once a day. He can not talk, and they are saying that he might not again. They are also saying that he will need help breathing for the rest of his life. Not a real pretty picture.
So, my first request is your prayers. We all know that Kevin is a fighter. Second, please do not go to the hospital. Kevin will open his eyes if he hears someone in his room, and I think that he is trying to communicate. Unfortunately, it also raises his blood pressure. There will be a time when he can have visitors, but it is not yet. The current prognosis is that he will be in ICU for three months.
Lastly, there are going to be some pretty significant bills as a result of all of this treatment. We are working on what we can get the state to pickup, but that process takes time. If you want to donate, you can to Chase Bank, Account number 3184530422. If you would rather, you can send the money to me and I can deposit it. (This is not a tax deductible donation.)
I will keep you posted.

1969 Harley Davidson FL Police Bike Fueled with Nitrous Oxide.

Owned by Nitros Mike, Santa Rosa, CA
In 1983 I designed a custom v-twin 96 cubic inch engine specifically for NOS nitrous fogger Injection with a 2 pound Bottle proudly displayed above the headlight. I did this before street bikes ran nitrous and there were no kits. I have been running nitrous on this 1969 ex San Francisco Police Bike hard for 26 years now. I have never damaged the engine, blown a head gasket, bent a rod or valve. In the early years I broke the frame 3 times among other parts which I strengthened and have not had a problem in 20 years. I have rebuilt the engine 3 times due to high mileage - not nitrous damage. The way I ride 2 lbs of NOS is not enough on my long trips so I have purchased and am presently adding two more 2lb bottles. In 1983 everyone said it wouldn't work - it has worked perfectly for 26 years now and probably will for 26 more I simply love NOS, NitrosMike
